Journal: Read the article about the hate crime at Columbia University. Respond to this hate crime. Choose your genre – a poem, a recipe for peace, a critique, a description, or a narrative.

Graded Assignments due: In your journal, write down three movies you may use for your critique. Also write two ideas for each movie that you may use as your opinion for the critique.

Classwork: Check comma handout. Imitate several movie reviews/critiques – Bee Movie and Paper Clips. Begin writing critique (speed writing…aka don’t edit while you write).

Homework: Write your rough draft for the critique. Type it and make sure it’s double spaced.
